Know how to Prepare a Dinner Party In a Flash

By Cassia Ann Jordan

Before, both sexes male and female have their own role in society, the husbands go to work to feed the family and the wife's to manage their home. Nowadays, with our economical challenges and high demand for food and shelter, it won't suffice if only the husband will go to work. Most women now have their own careers and their doing good with it. In fact, most of them can have work and manage the house too. This is really great but most working mothers don't even have time to go to the spa or have time for themselves.

However, in reality, if you are working full time and you are very busy, you probably do not have the time to make too many dinner parties unless you have constant household help. Most working mothers will tell you that after a hard day at the office, they do not have the strength to walk into the house and do a major cooking and cleaning job. It is far too hard. Even at the weekends, they are tired and it is just too hard to work so hard during the little free time that they have.

Yet this seems to be a terrible shame. In our busy lives, it is important to have the occasional social activity to provide a diversion from our tough work schedules. So how can you fit in making the occasional dinner party when you are working full time?

Instead of hiring a party planner for big occasions or having someone to help you for simple gatherings won't be necessary. Simple time management can greatly help you. First, if you're a work at home mom and have the talent for table setting, this can actually be another sideline business for you. Now, if you go to the office everyday and you're always busy and a party is going to be held soon, then you will need to prepare for it before the actual week of the event. Divide what you need to do with the party and then adjust every week's schedule to give time to small preparations. For example, you have one month to plan, for the first week, think of the theme, the budget, estimated place and time of the party. Send invitations if needed and get the things you need in the attic. Clean them completely so a few days before the event; you won't cover yourself with dust. Do the heavier tasks first.

No ideas yet? Search through the Internet. There are dozens of ideas in the Internet that can help you come up with your own concept. Once you find something interesting, it's important to take note of them. There are hundreds of table setting styles and not to mention napkin folding tutorials too. Gather all the ideas that will catch your attention and after that, it's time to incorporate your own idea or mix and match them according to your theme.

- Buy in the food you need a few days before and then spread the cooking over that week. Look at the recipes you are making and see what can be prepared and frozen a day or two in advance, rather than frantically cooking up a storm the same day.

Avoid being Lazy

Since you know that the party won't be happening until next month, one might assume that it's okay if some of the plan can be skipped. Often times, we always say that "oh, it's not going to happen now, I can always do it tomorrow" but this is one thing that can lead to last minute shopping and preparation. What if your table setting isn't right for the event and today is the day? You can't just rush and pick anything just to make it blend, right?

Having the right discipline and the proper attitude towards work, leisure and other things will surely help you balance your work and your personal life all together.
