How to use a Proxy

Every time you open up a web browser, you are broadcasting your location to the entire web. Here's how to keep your self hidden. This is a good method on accessing countries specific websites, without actually being in that country.

there are multiple ways to setup a proxy, the easiest way is through proxy website such as www.proxify.com, or www.hidemyass.com. All you have to do is type in the website click the button and you can view that website without it knowing the ip address.

But how do you know its working? first you can see your real ip address in www.whatismyipaddress.com and it will show you your current ip address and its location, and you can go back to www.proxify.com or www.hidemyass.com, and type www.whatismyipaddress.com and you can see a different ip address. and this ip address is everyone else will see instead of your own.
the advance option will let you even select for countries.

Another option is by installing browser add-ons which will let you switch between different proxies. A good firefox add-on is called the foxyproxy. and for chrome is called proxy switchy.

For this to work, you have to go to there options and enter a proxy ip address to use, to find some you can go to www.hidemyass.com and click on the IP:Port Proxies tab, and it will give you a list of ip addresses and ports to use. you can even filter them by country. and in the proxy switchy or foxyproxy you can just enter the information by entering the ip address and the port settings and click on save and set it to active.

The last thing is by downloading application. if your goal is privacy and security then the tor project is a must for you www.torproject.org. you need to download the browser bundle and it is portable so you can extract it into a flash drive and use it anywhere. just click on the start tor browser and firefox will automatically start and its already configured for secure browsing. there is nothing to be installed and it does not affect the other software that you have in your computer.
